After the successful launch of SuperLab Cloud last fall, we received a number of feature requests and feedback.

What’s New

SuperLab Cloud was built with a pandemic mindset, the idea that participants will be remote. Our users told us that they also want to run Task Player in the computer lab and suggested a few things. With SuperLab 6.5:

  • There is now an option to keep a downloaded experiment on the local drive.
  • In addition to uploading the data file to your Cloud account, there is a new option to save a copy of the data file to the Desktop. This is handy when teaching and wanting students to review the data.
  • You can create a shortcut that runs Task Player and specifies the task ID in one step.

You can now also use SuperLab Cloud to store your experiments. Using the Dashboard from within SuperLab, there is a new option to download an experiment that you had uploaded earlier.

What’s Fixed or Changed

  • Fixed: when publishing an experiment, the end date was not displaying correctly in Thai (and possibly other languages).
  • Changed: when a participant presses Esc to cancel an experiment, Task Player no longer uploads an incomplete data file.
  • Changed: when you use Save As… in SuperLab and publish, SuperLab will treat the “saved as” experiment as a new one and give it its own task ID.

Other Changes

In SuperLab 6.5, you can now purchase additional licenses or upgrade to SuperLab X6 from within the app.

And speaking of X6, it is now a better value than ever. In addition to supporting Tobii eye trackers, the new version includes an integration with BIOPAC’s AcqKnowledge, a free two year subscription to SuperLab Cloud, and free upgrades forever.
