First time users of
RB-530,

Please
follow the installation instructions carefully!
Depending on which version of
Windows you are using, some of the screen snapshots shown below may look a
little different on your computer. The USB drivers should work on Windows
98SE (Second Edition), Me, 2000, XP, Vista,
and Windows 7. Windows NT does not support USB.
Important note on 64-bit
support: this page provides a link for downloading a driver
for the 64-bit edition of Vista. The 64-bit edition of Windows
XP is not supported by Cedrus.
Step 1 - Connecting the Response Pad
Connecting your response pad is
straightforward. Only the USB cable (included with the pad) needs to be
connected to your computer. No separate power supply is necessary.

-
Insert one side of the USB cable
into the response pad.
-
Insert the other side of the USB
cable into any available USB port on your computer. A few seconds later,
Windows will show the "Found New Hardware" dialog (screen) shown below.
DO NOT CLICK or select any options yet!

There is a green LED (small
light) to the left of the USB connector; it will remain dim until the USB
drivers are installed.
Step 2 - Downloading the USB Drivers
Click on the following link to
begin the download:
Download the USB drivers for
Windows 98SE, ME, 2000, XP, or Vista 32-bit
[393 KB]
Download the USB drivers for
Vista 64-bit Edition [1.3 MB]

When you click on the link, you
will see a screen similar to the one above. You can either save the file to
disk or simply run it. We recommend that you run it. Click on the
Open button. The download will start. A
few moments later, a program will automatically run and prompt you as
follows:

Click on
OK. Another dialog will appear, similar to the one below:

Click on the
Extract button (we recommend that you
leave the options as shown above). Once the copying is complete, go back to
the "Found New Hardware" dialog:
Step 3 - Installing the USB Drivers
Back at the "Found New Hardware" dialog, you
are now ready to install the USB drivers on your computer.

-
Turn
Off the "Search removable media" option
-
Turn On
the "Include this location in the search" option
-
In the edit field, type
C:\Temp\CedrusUSB
-
Click on
Next
At this point, Windows will find
the proper driver and install it. If you are using Windows XP, you will see
the following message:

Click on
Continue Anyway. After a few moments, the installation will be
complete and the green LED (light) on the response pad should turn on.
Step 4 - Install USB Drivers Again
Windows will complain
that no driver is installed. Installing the driver a second
time will resolve the issue. If you purchased more than one response
pad, the driver may need to be installed for every response pad even if they
are identical models as Windows seems to keep track of individual units.
