Using the RB-x30 Response Pad With
SuperLab for Windows 2.0
Last
Revision: May 3, 2004
The information in this
document applies to:
Owners
of an RB-530,
RB-730, RB-830, or
RB-834 response pad who want to use it
with SuperLab for Windows 2.0x.
Summary
In addition to
installing the USB driver, the
minimum version of SuperLab for Windows needed to work with an RB-x30
response pad is 2.0.4.
The Details
The two steps necessary to use
your RB-x30 response pad with SuperLab for Windows are:
-
Install the USB driver. Some devices such as keyboards, mice, and
joysticks come with a USB driver (a small program) already built into
Windows. All others must have a USB driver installed separately to make
Windows "see" the device.
-
Make sure that you are using SuperLab for
Windows version 2.0.4 or later.
To verify which version of
SuperLab you are using, click on the Help menu and select "About SuperLab".
A dialog (window) will appear and display the version number.
If you are using a version prior
to 2.0.4, you can download version 2.0.4 by clicking
on this link. You do not
need to remove the version currently installed, nor will you need to
re-enter your license number or activation key.
Setting Your Experiment in SuperLab
This part is also easy. In SuperLab:
-
Click on the Experiment menu and chose "Input
From...". A dialog (screen) appears showing you the list of available input
devices. If you are using version 2.0.4 or later, you should see the
following items listed in that dialog:
RB-530 Response Pad
RB-730 Response Pad
RB-830 Response Pad
RB-834 Response Pad
-
Select the option that corresponds to the
response pad model that you are using.
-
Click on the Options button. Another smaller
dialog appears. After a few seconds, this smaller dialog will display a
message indicating whether SuperLab can "see" the response pad or not.
-
Click on OK button twice.
