Using the RB-x30 Response Pad With
SuperLab for Macintosh 1.7x
Last
Revision: May 3, 2004
The information in this
document applies to:
Owners
of an RB-530,
RB-730, RB-830, or
RB-834 response pad who want to use it
with SuperLab for Mac.
Summary
In addition to
installing the USB driver, the
minimum version of SuperLab for Mac needed to work with an RB-x30 response
pad is 1.77.
The Details
The three steps necessary to use
your RB-x30 response pad with SuperLab for Mac are:
-
Install the USB driver. Some devices such as keyboards, mice, and
joysticks come with a USB driver (a small program) already built into
Mac OS. All others must have a USB driver installed separately to make
Mac OS "see" the device.
-
On the side of the response pad where the USB
cable is found, there is a block of four switches (called DIP switches). Make sure
that switches 1 and 2 are UP, and switches 3 and 4 are down.

-
Make sure that you are using SuperLab for
Mac version 1.77 or later.
To verify which version of
SuperLab you are using, click on the Apple menu and select "About SuperLab".
A dialog (window) will appear and display the version number.
If you are using a version prior
to 1.77, please contact Cedrus for the latest
version.
Setting Your Experiment in SuperLab
This part is also easy. In SuperLab:
-
Click on the Experiment menu and chose "Input
From...". A dialog (screen) appears showing you the list of available input
devices. If you are using version 2.0.4 or later, you should see the
following items listed in that dialog:
RB-530 USB Response Pad
RB-730 USB Response Pad
RB-830 USB Response Pad
RB-834 USB Response Pad
-
Select the option that corresponds to the
response pad model that you are using.
-
Click on OK button.
