Support    StimTracker    Using the Front Panel

A Quick Tour

Once installed, using StimTracker is straightforward. There are only two push buttons:

  • Power to turn the unit on and off.
  • Set Threshold to set the sensitivity or threshold of the analog inputs.

There are two rows of LED lights:

  • In the top row, there are white LEDs behind the magenta line. They light up in turn when you press the Set Threshold button; see below.
  • The bottom row has blue LEDs that flash every time an event is detected and an event marker is generated.

Adjusting Thresholds

The analog inputs that StimTracker monitors can have their threshold adjusted. These are: the two to four light sensors, two audio channels, and the voice key microphone (Quad model only).

  • To start, press the Set Threshold button; a white LED lights up above “Audio L” and the blue numeric display lights up to show you the current setting.
  • Turn knob (rotary dial) to the right or left to adjust the audio left channel’s threshold. As you do, the blue LED gives you immediate feedback as to whether StimTracker is now detecting the left channel sound.
  • Press Set Threshold two more times; a white LED lights up for light sensor 1.
  • Turn knob to the right or left to adjust the light sensor’s threshold level.

You can keep pressing Set Threshold. When you’ve cycled through all the analog inputs, the blue numeric display turns off. Note: StimTracker will exit “set threshold” mode automatically after 30 seconds of inactivity.

Light Sensor vs. Microphone Input (Quad model only)

On StimTracker Quad, the Microphone input can be used as a microphone or as a fourth light sensor. You can switch functionality between the two using the front panel.

  • Press the Set Threshold button a few times.
  • Either Light Sensor 4 or Mic will display OFF.
  • If Mic displays OFF, then light sensor 4 is selected; and vice versa. To enable it, turn the knob in either direction and it will display the threshold’s numeric value instead.
