Once installed, using StimTracker is straightforward. There are only two push buttons:
Power to turn the unit on and off.
Set Threshold to set the sensitivity or threshold of the analog inputs.
There are two rows of LED lights:
Some of the events that StimTracker monitors require that the threshold or sensitivity be set. These are: the four lightsensors, two audio channels, and the voice key microphone.
When the microphone is selected, you can press Set Threshold one more time to exit. The blue numeric display turns off. Note: StimTracker will exit “set threshold” mode automatically after 30 seconds of inactivity.
In order to assist with making short duration pulses clearly visible, StimTracker will turn on the front panel LEDs for 200 milliseconds even if the pulse duration is shorter. If a stream of pulses is being detected, the LED will light up “real time” for subsequent pulses but will flash no faster than 24 times per second. This is by design and is intended to make it clear that it’s a stream of pulses coming in and not a line that is permanently high.
This only applies to the front panel LEDs and there is no alteration or delay of the signal itself.
