Cedrus provides two code samples for Matlab users. Both samples use the VCP (Virtual COM Port) USB driver; timing precision is about 5 to 6 milliseconds.

Matlab 2019b or later is needed. Both samples will scan all available virtual serial port to find a compatible device. They were developed with Matlab version R2020b Update 4 (9.9.0.1570001). 

Code Sample 1 – Sending Event Markers

The first code sample allows you to send event markers via all of our current products:

• StimTracker Duo and Quad
• c-pod
• Riponda 
• RB-x40 response pads
• Lumina 3G controller

It also works with the original StimTracker ST-100 model.

Event markers are sent asynchronously. For example, if you want send a 20ms pulse, your Matlab code does not have to pause for 20ms.

Code Sample 2 –Getting Responses

The second code sample handles obtaining key press information from:

• RB-x40 response pads (i.e. RB-540, RB-740, RB-840, and RB-844)
• Lumina 3G controller

It can send event markers as well.
